well-plate is built for researchers, not for advertisers. Here is exactly what we store and what we will never do with it.

We do not sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
We only store what is strictly needed to make your account and your saved projects work. There are no ads, no third-party analytics and no tracking cookies on this site.
You can use the microplate and tubes editors without signing up. In that case nothing you design is sent to our servers: your work lives in your browser while the page is open, and in the .wellplate / .tubes files you choose to export, which stay on your device.
Account data: your email address, a username and your password. The password is stored in hashed form — we never see or store it in plain text.
Project data: for every project you save we store its name, its type (microplate or tubes), the design itself (plate size, reagents with their names, colors, units and doses, well assignments, tube IDs and contents, display preferences) and timestamps (created, last edited, last opened).
That's it. We don't collect your location, device fingerprints, browsing history or anything else.
We only use essential cookies that keep you signed in to your account (session cookies). They are not used to track you and are not shared with anyone. If you don't sign in, no cookies containing personal data are set.
Account and project data are stored on Supabase, the infrastructure provider that hosts our database and authentication service. Access to your projects is restricted at the database level: only your authenticated account can read, modify or delete them.
We only send you emails that are necessary for your account to work, such as the confirmation email when you sign up. No newsletters, no marketing, unless you explicitly ask for them one day — and even then, only opt-in.
These emails are delivered through Brevo, our email service provider. Brevo processes your email address for the sole purpose of delivering these messages — it does not use it for anything else.
You can access, correct or delete your data at any time. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and all of your saved projects from our servers.
To request access, correction or deletion, write to us at wellplate.app@gmail.com and we will take care of it.
If we ever change how we handle your data, we will update this page and announce it in the News section before the change takes effect.
